The latest appointments at Starwood Luxury Hotels, Ulysse Nardin, Quintessentially, Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, CREATETHE GROUP and Bacardi.


Another month of musical chairs in the Fashion industry, as the creative director merry-go-round shows no sign of slowing. Following recent acquisition by Dubai-based Paris Group, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi have been dismissed from Gianfranco Ferré, after holding the post since 2008.

After confirming that Hannah McGibbon would survive at least another season at Chloé, Clare Waight Keller has been named the house’s new creative director come June 1st, as McGibbon ‘focuses on new projects’. Finally, Alessandro Sartori has announced his departure from Z Zegna, where he has been the creative director for eight years, to be replaced by Paul Surridge, the current head designer of Jil Sander.


Gian Riccardo Marini, CEO, Rolex

The former managing director of Rolex Italia S.p.A. Marini, Gian Riccardo Marini, has been named the company’s new global CEO, effective immediately, succeeded Bruno Meier who has held the post since 2008.

After a 26-year career at Procter & Gamble, Caroline Basyn has been named Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Bacardi Limited, responsible for all Information Technology activities and leading the Company’s overall IT strategy and implementation.

Patrik P. Hoffmann, CEO, Ulysse Nardin

As successor of the late Rolf W. Schnyder, Ulysse Nardin has appointed Patrik P. Hoffmann to the position of CEO. Mr Hoffmann joined the company in 1999 and played a significant role in the success of Ulysse Nardin in North and Central America.

Olivier Rousteing, design director, Balmain

Supervising the design and development of both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, Olivier Rousteing has been confirmed as the design director of Balmain, succeeding a recently dismissed Christophe Decarnin. Rousteing has been in charge of Balmain’s womenswear studio since 2009 and previously spent five years at Roberto Cavalli.

Gigi Ganatra Duff , senior director of global public relations, Starwood Luxury Brands

Overseeing public relations efforts for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels Worldwide and Le Mèridien, Gigi Ganatra Duff has been appointed senior director of global public relations at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Katie Roberts has also been appointed as the manager of global public relations, responsible for global press strategies and media campaigns.
