The Latest Hotels, Bali, Hong Kong & Cambodia

Sofitel adds Essaouira Mogador, Morocco, and Phnom Penh Phokeethra, Cambodia, to its resort portfolio, whilst The Westin expands in Phoenix and Nanjing.

In preparation for the 2010 Olympics, London has been an ongoing hotspot for luxury hotel openings, joined by similar cosmopolitan markets like New York and Paris. But as the Northern Hemisphere summer approaches, all eyes have shifted to the opening of chic resorts from Morocco to Cambodia to Sanya. As Hotel Missoni pioneers in upcoming destinations like Edinburgh and Kuwait, and The Westin gets a further foothold in the corporate travel market.


Hotel de EDGE, Hong Kong

Overlooking Victoria Harbour, Hotel de EDGE is a new boutique hotel by Rhombus, located in Connaught Road West within walking distance of Hong Kong’s city centre, the Macau Ferry Terminal and the colourful, creative hub of Sheung Wan. The 32-storey glass tower houses 90-rooms, including complimentary WiFi internet access and features high quality audio visual equipment, a 42-inch LED TV, DVD Player and iPod or iPhone docking stations.

The Westin, Nanjing Jiangsu

The first Westin hotel in Nanjing, in the Jiangsu province, is strategically located in the heart of the Hunan Road central business district. The hotel offers a retreat with all guest rooms overlooking the scenic Xuanwu Lake, atop the Nanjing International Centre and features 234 rooms and suites with 42” LCD HDTV, iPod docking stations and high speed internet access for all guests.

Narada Villa, Sanya

The Westin, Phoenix Downtown

Missoni, Kuwait

The second Hotel Missoni, following the launch of the brand in Edinburgh, recently opened inside the luxury Symphony shopping centre in Kuwait. The property incorporates169 rooms, with a pool overlooking the Persian Gulf, and Arabic and Mediterranean dining in the Cucina, Luna, restaurant and pastries and chocolates in the Choco Cafe. Missoni Hotels is a joint venture operation with Radisson Hotels, which operate the Missoni Hotels. Further locations are planned for Oman and Brazil for 2012.

Sofitel, Phnom Penh Phokeethra

The Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra is set riverside, amongst landscaped gardens in the old quarter of the city. This 12-storey colonial style hotel is close to key attractions, embassies and the central business district.
